Courses

Each year I teach a first-semester Astronomy course for large audiences, both online and face-to-face (F2F).  Each course has at least 150 students, and may have as many as 450.  The online astronomy course may use one of the Horizons Hybrid or Universe Hybrid textbooks shown above.

I also teach annually an astrobiology course called Life in the Universe and a course in Space Weather, which are second and third semester follow-on courses to Astronomy

On alternating years, I may teach Galaxies & Cosmology and/or Astrophysics. These are both upper-division undergraduate courses.

Minor and major undergraduate students may also wish to pursue independent research for three credits.  Contact me via email (montgomery_at_physics.ucf.edu) if you are a UCF student interested in this independent research or independent study. Undergraduate students should also look into EXCEL, RAMP, SURF, or other UCF undergraduate research experiences at UCF.
