NSF-REU program
The members of the FSMS have recently launched an NSF-sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduate (REU) program title "REU in Computational Materials Science: Designing Materials in a Virtual Laboratory. The PI for the REU project is Prof. Aravind Asthagiri at the University of Florida. Lead by Prof. Aravind Asthagiri at UF, the REU program will provide undergraduates with an opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research in materials simulation. More details including application information and contacts can be found at the REU website .
The meeting will begin with a kickoff session and workshop for the participants, held at the University of Florida. Following the 10-week program, there is another meeting at UF where students can present there research results. In addition to REU presentations, the FSMS faculty will present research talks. A flyer with REU details is linked here. Please feel free to post the flyer so that students are your institution can find out about this opportunity.
