FSMS 2010 meeting at UCF approaching

The dates for the 2010 FSMS meeting have been set. The meeting will begin on August 2 at UCF with presentations by the REU students. On August 3, the meeting will continue with a series of talks from faculty, postdocs, and graduate students, and will also include a poster session. Finally there will be an executive sessions of the FSMS members. Please check for more details in the meetings section of website.

Publications resulting from REU projects

Several REU projects from the 2009 year are leading to publications. We will keep an updated list as articles get accepted for publication.

REU program begins, 9/1/2008

The NSF-REU program lead by Prof. Aravind Asthagiri has begun. The project will provide opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in cutting-edge research using materials simulation. Each of the particpating universit ies in the FSMS will host three students. More details about the REU program can be found at the REU website, including application instructions.
