Seyfert Galaxy

Seyfert Galaxy - A normal spiral galaxy except for the unusually small and bright core that fluctuates in brightness, which may be an indication of galaxy mergers.

This Hubble Space Telescope image is Seyfert galaxy NGC 5033. The bright, small nucleus in the center of the image is offset from its supermassive blackhole, which is a potential indicator of a galaxy merger within the last billion years.
