Red Dwarf
Red Dwarf
Red Dwarf - A red star much lower in mass, cooler, smaller, dimmer, and older than the Sun.
Shown is Gliese 623, a visual binary star system. Gliese 623A, a red dwarf, is in the center of this Hubble Space Telescope image, and Gliese 623B is the smaller celestial object to the right. The arcs around Gliese 623A are artifacts of the image processing and are thus not real.
