Dust Tail

Dust Tail - The short, reddish, dusty tail of a comet; as a comet warms when nearing the Sun, dust particles are released from the nucleus and pushed into a fantail shape by the pressure of sunlight.

The image shows a short, reddish tail extending outward from a comet nucleus (see red arrow).
