This is a basic calculation of centripetal acceleration and centripetal force, from the chapter 4 exercises. This is a merry-go-round, so the strength of the steel construction provides the centripetal Newtons of force.
However, a satellite in circular orbit around Earth has a different source of centripetal Newtons. It is gravitational attraction that provides the inward, centripetal force at every instant.
