From Small Signals to Big Planets
We give a brief review of the wide-field surveys on transiting extrasolar
planets with a more focused discussion on the achievements of HATNet. We
also describe in some detail the methodology (in particular the time series
part) of the discovery process. Some of the most interesting results
(e.g., HAT-P-2, HAT-P-11, HAT-P-13, HAT-P-15) will be highlighted alongside
with our current work on WASP-33, a system with a fast-rotating pulsating
host star with all kinds of transit anomalies.
