An Infrared Spectroscopic Search of the Exoplanet HD 217107b
We have revisited a correlation method to directly search the
high-resolution signature of a known non-transiting extrasolar planet
in the combined near infrared spectrum of the system HD217107 using
thermal emission atmospheric models, the objective of this work is to
obtain the inclination of the orbit, the mass of the exoplanet, and
the planet-to-star flux ratio. Along with the results, we present
simulations of the method on other planet candidates, for which we
generated an optimized observational and selection strategy to increase
future probabilities of success.
