Future Research Plans

We plan to make exploratory efforts in different new fronts related to SMMs and other magnetic nanostructures. Several new research possibilities to be explored during the next years will involve local and international groups in new and strong collaborations with our group at UCF.

Some of these new efforts are described in these pages and can be summarized as follows:

  • Characterization and Study of new SMMs
  • Antiferromagnetic SMMs
  • 2D arrays of weakly and strongly interacting SMMs
  • Single-molecule-magnet transistor
  • Quantum dynamics of the magnetization in SMMs
  • Spin-echo experiments
  • Study of decoherence in magnetic systems
  • Spin-lattice relaxation and photons/phonons generation
  • Quantum computation with SMMs
  • Development of new integrated techniques of measurement for the study of SMMs
